This afternoon at Croke Park, the field for the 2015 national football league crown was trimmed from four to two.

A mouth-watering semi-final double-header comprised Cork V Donegal at 2 and Dublin V Monaghan at 4.

The youthful Rebels finished top of Division One and were determined to bounce back from last weekend's blip in Derry by storming through to the decider. But seasoned Ulster champions Donegal had shown great resilience to transform themsevles from relegation fighters to genuine title contenders.

In the second semi-final, holders Dublin and Monaghan collided for the second time in eight days. The Leinster champions eased past the border county at Clones last weekend but Malachy O'Rourke's men improved dramatically as a thrilling match unfolded.
