Skerries Harps & the Dubs!

September 15, 2014

Dublin LGFA announced last week that Skerries Harps were the proud winners of the Dublin LGFA - Pink Laces competition.

The Skerries club sold the highest number of Breast Cancer Ireland pink laces in a competition which was open to all Dublin LGFA clubs.

Skerries Harps reward for their fund raising efforts was a coaching session with members of the Dublin Senior panel.

So last Saturday Dubs quartet of Lyndsey Davey, Niamh McEvoy, Olivia Leonard and Sarah McCaffrey took time out from their All Ireland final preparations to coach the up and coming stars of Skerries Harps and by all accounts both the Dubs & the younsters of Skerries had a ball !!

Skerries Harps Club Secretary Chris McConvery - "On behalf of Skerries Harps I would appreciate if you could pass on our thanks to Niamh, Olivia, Sarah and of course our own Lyndsey for a fantastic day on Saturday.

Their approach to the children and to the session was a credit to them and to Ladies Gaelic Football and I hope they enjoyed the day as much as the players and their mentors did.

Their visit made a lasting impression on our young players all of whom were thrilled to say they had a training session with Senior Dublin players.

It was certainly  refreshing to see senior players who are so willing to give something back to their sport and indeed to support a very worth while cause".

Dublin lgfa would appeal to their members to continue to support the "Lace Up For A Cure Campaign ". Pink Laces are still available to purchase through www.breastcancerireland.com they are priced at €5 each, with a total of €4.70 going directly to fund Breast Cancer Ireland's pioneering research programmes.
