Dublin's facile Leinster SFC final victory over Meath has been marred by a third biting controversy in 17 months.

Royal County boss Mick O'Dowd has alleged that substitute Mickey Burke was bitten in the second half of the Croke Park decider, which the Dubs won by 3-20 to 1-10. The Longwood defender left Croke Park with his left hand bandaged.

O'Dowd had just finished his post-match press conference when he returned to the media room and made the claim.

He told the assembled media: "I just went back to the dressing room after speaking to you and saw the doctor dealing with his finger. He's gone to the Dublin dressing room to speak to the Dublin doctor because there's a protocol to deal with.

"I'm extremely disappointed," he added.

The CCCC is expected to investigate the alleged incident. Dublin defender Kevin O'Brien, who didn't play today, was handed a proposed three-match ban for an allegedly biting Donegal's Paddy McBrearty in April 2013, only to have it revoked by the Central Hearings Committee after McBrearty failed to give evidence against him.

Last January, defender Jason Whelan was hit with an eight-week ban following another CCCC investigation into biting allegations in Dublin's O'Byrne Cup defeat to DCU.
