Joe Brolly might need a bodyguard when he attends Cáirde Mhaigheo's Pre-Match Night in The Citywest Hotel.

The Derry man has been announced as one of the special guests along with David Brady, John Madden and Bernard Flynn at the September 17th function and he is in for a warm reception if the reaction of Mayo supporters on the official Mayo GAA Facebook page is anything to go by.

It's unlikely that Stephen Gallagher will be attending: "Joe brolly ????? Seriously ....... Good luck selling tickets to that. Well if that Buck was in my back garden is set the dog on him! What a gobsh*te"

And Nail McNameera won't be banging down the door of The Citywest, either: "Why on earth would any Mayo fan want to go watch that odious Derry toad laugh and sneer about our team, never mind pay for it! I hope David Brady hits him a shoulder on the way it!"

Keith Corley isn't a fan of the 1993 All-Ireland winner and is also urging Brady to intervene: "Having brolly and the pr*ck made a laugh of the mayo team after the semi final, hope David Brady boxes the head of him."
