Kearney points to 'heart' of team

November 26, 2014

Slaughtneil assistant manager John Joe Kearney believes that the side have the heart to see them over the line in the Ulster club SFC final.

The Derry champions take on their Tyrone counterparts Omagh in the provincial decider and there have been many questions asked about the Slaughtneil attack.

But, Kearney points to the fact that they are scoring enough to win matches to counter the criticism of their forward line.

"People say that we're weaker in the forward line but we score enough to win matches," Kearney told the County Derry Post.

"I suppose it's a mixture between scoring enough and not conceding, you know. There's plenty of heart in all our players and there will be plenty of heart shown on Sunday too as it's a first Ulster final for them.

"And it's a first for Omagh too so there will be equal determination in both camps to win it. We're certainly up for it and if things run for us, we'll maybe not be too far away."
