April 07, 2014The minor footballers lost to Lavey in the final of the pre-season Hughes McElwee Cup at Lavey on Sunday. A bright start from Swatragh saw them lead by two points early on but Lavey dominated the remainder of the first half. Some excellent score taking saw Lavey lead 2-07 to 0-03 at the interval. Lavey consolidated their advantage in the third quarter as Swatragh failed to eat into the half time deficit. A spirited final quarter saw the Davitts reduce the arrears to six points thanks to a Francis Kearney penalty and points from Niall McAtamney and Sean F Quinn. Final score Lavey 2-10 Swatragh 1-07.
The senior footballers lost to Ballinascreen in the quarter final of the Larkin Cup at home on Saturday afternoon on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-08. The U14 hurlers were in Feile action on Sunday morning at Kevin Lynch Park Dungiven. First game was against Ballinscreen which they won 4-04 to 1-02 but lost out to the home side 2-05 to 0-07.
