The Clare senior hurling championship resumed last weekend, but not everybody is happy with the format.

Kilmaley manager PJ Kennedy vented his anger over the fact that three months had elapsed between the first and second rounds of the SHC.

Kennedy's charges must plan for a relegation battle following their defeat to Sixmilebridge and he told the Clare Champion that the current system must be addressed.

"It's a joke, one game in eight months is ridiculous," blasted Kennedy. "The lads were like fellas that didn't play together before and they must work and play together to have a chance of progressing."

Kilmaley are joined in the relegation battle by Newmarket, Whitegate and Inagh-Kilnamona.
