Colm Collins was understandably delighted after Clare's Allianz League Division 3 final triumph.

Dean Ryan's late goal helped the Banner to a thrilling 2-17 to 1-19 victory over favourites Kildare as they claimed their first football silverware in over a decade.

"It is a great feeling, it was a fantastic experience for us," the manager enthused.

"There was a nail-biting finish of course, but it was great to come out on the right side of it. It was an excellent game in fairness to Kildare. Both teams really went at it throughout the game."

Clare's never-say-die attitude also pleased the Cratloe clubman.

"We came back well. They had a great start, they went ahead.  It looked like they were dominating, but we kept battling away. Bit by bit we came back.

"There was some excellent play and work from our lads.  I'm very proud of them, I'm just absolutely delighted. They are a tremendous bunch of players."
