Exiled Clare hurler Davy O'Halloran has joined the county's football squad.

Banner County football manager Colm Collins confirmed the news to The Examiner this morning: "We took a week off after the league and he's in with us this week. 

"He's an excellent footballer."

O'Halloran and Nicky O'Connell both left the Banner hurling set-up in controversial circumstances last month with O'Halloran subsequently claiming that the pair had been subjected to humiliating disciplinary treatment.

O'Connell, however, returned to the hurling fold earlier this week after a clear-the-air meeting while O'Halloran's inter-county future now lies in gaelic football.
