Fitzgerald joins Banner backroom

Ephie Fitzgerald. INPHO

Ephie Fitzgerald has joined the Clare senior football management team.

The Cork man has been brought in by manager Colm Collins to replace another Rebel, Paudie Kissane, who stepped aside after just one year as team trainer.

Former Cork minor boss Fitzgerald is manager of the Ballylanders side that last weekend captured a fourth successive Limerick SFC crown and he also steered Nemo Rangers to four consecutive Cork SFCs between 2005 and 2008.

Interestingly, Fitzgerald and Clare boss Collins could come face to face in this year's Munster club football championship as Banner kingpins Cratloe - also managed by Collins - await the winners of Ballylanders' quarter-final clash with Stradbally or Nire.
