Croker beckons for Royal camogie team

June 15, 2016

Meath's Sinead Hackett with Grainne O'Higgins of Down during the 2012 All Ireland Junior Camogie final at Croke Park.

The Meath camogie team will share the Croke Park stage with their senior hurling counterparts on Saturday week.

John Davis' side has been fixed to face Down in the Liberty Insurance Intermediate Camogie championship at GAA headquarters and the game will be the curtain raiser for the Christy Ring Cup final replay against Antrim (3.15).

It's a repeat of the 2012 All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie final and the Royal girls will be hoping to continue their winning ways in 2016.

Already this year they have scooped National Camogie League Division 2 and Leinster Intermediate honours.

Tickets will cost €5 across the board and Meath and Antrim have been asked to nominate a chosen charity. All proceeds will be divided between these two charities.

It will be a busy weekend for the Royals as the following day their senior footballers will make the short trip to Croker to take on Dublin in the Leinster SFC semi-final.
