Ann Downey will return as Kilkenny senior camogie manager in 2016.

One of camogie's greatest ever players and the holder of a remarkable 12 All-Ireland senior medals, Downey was previously in change when a youthful Kilkenny team lost the 2009 All-Ireland final to Cork.

Her selectors will be former Kilkenny hurling stars Conor Phelan (Clara) and Paddy Mullally (Glenmore). The trio, who combined to lead WIT to an Ashbourne Cup title last spring, replace Fintan Deegan, who has been forced to step down after just one season due to family and work commitments.

Another former Kilkenny hurler, David Herity, has linked up with the Dublin camogs. The five-time All-Ireland winning goalkeeper will work alongside Dublin manager Shane O'Brien in the season ahead.
