Limerick host Clare in Kilmallock on Sunday next at 2.30pm in the final group game of their first season back in Division One with a win or draw enough to ensure a semi-final berth. The girls performances at this level have been impressive with a 2-10 to 1-9 win against All-Ireland champions Galway the undoubted highlight.
While the backbone of the side played in the All-Ireland final last September the absence of minor stars (who are involved in their own championship campaign) has allowed other players to come to the fore in attack notably Granagh Ballingarry's Mairead Fitzgerald and Cappamore's Muireann Creamer giving Joe Quaid and his management team plenty of options for later in the year. The defence lead by captain Fiona Hickey has been equally impressive and performed excellently in both matches against last years All-Ireland finalists.
Clare come to this game needing a result to keep their own league ambitions alive and a thrilling encounter can be expected in Kilmallock.

Cunningham Foods Senior A Camogie League

Ballyagran 2-9 Ahane 2-7
Ballyagran edged an exciting and closely fought Senior A league clash with Ahane on Sunday by 2-9 to 2-7. Weather conditions were very good and this was an evenly contested match throughout and the win could have gone to either team.
Ballyagran opened the scoring and from the off the Ahane full back line were under a lot of pressure conceding two goals early in the half as Ballyagran's Sarah Collins continued her excellent goal scoring form seen recently at county level. Ahane rallied, getting some good points from play but some missed chances in front of goal meant Ballyagran went into half time ahead by 7 points.
Ahane came out in the second half a different team and an early goal from a Judith Mulcahy free put them right back in the game. A number of points from play followed until Robyn Nugent added a second goal for Ahane to reduce the deficit to a single point. However excellent free taking by Sarah Collins for Ballyagran restored their lead and Ahane were unable to bridge the gap.
Final score: Ahane 2-07 Ballyagran 2-09.
Ballyagran now face Newcastle West in the next round in a top of the table clash and Ahane face Killeedy.

Newcastle West continued their impressive form defeating last years League and Championship winners Granagh Ballingarry by 2-12 to 0-9.

Galbally 3-7 Killeedy 2-8
Galbally got their first of the season defeating 2012 champions Killeedy by 3-7 to 2-8 in a close encounter.

Adare 1-7 Na Piarsaigh 1-9
Na Piarsaigh under their new manager former Limerick All-Star Damien Quigley got off to a good start in with a 1-9 to 1-7 win away to Adare.
A closely contested game saw both sides give it everything in this opening round game of Senior B League. Na Piarsaigh lead at half time 0-5 to 0-3 with county minor stars Aoife Wilson for Na Piarsaigh and Caoimhe Costello for Adare to the fore.
Aoife Wilson goaled for Na Piarsaigh midway through the second half to put Na Piarsaigh ahead by 5pts. However Adare replied with a goal of their own but Na Piarsaigh held onto their two point lead to win by 1-9 to 1-7.

Bruff 0-10 Croagh Kilfinny 1-10
A very close match saw Croagh Kilfinny edge out Bruff by 1-10 to 0-10 in Ballybricken on Sunday.
On a lovely fresh morning Bruff got off to the better start and had 6 points on the board before Croagh registered their first. But Croagh replied and put their 6 of their own to see the sides go in a half-time level on 0-6 a piece.
Croagh opened the second half scoring going into a two point lead but Bruff again replied and brought the game level again. Bruff had two goal chances but the Croagh keeper pulled off two fine saves. This was the turning point of the game as Croagh broke down the other end and Sarah Fitzgerald got a goal to open a three point gap. Bruff increased the pressure and got two points closing the gap to the narrowest margin. However they conceded two frees which were converted by martina McMahon to leave the final score Croagh Kilfinny 1-10 Bruff 0-10.

Intermediate League

Cappamore 0-9 Murroe Boher 3-8
Murroe Boher came out on top by 3-8 to 0-9 in a crucial league clash with neighbours Cappamore.
This was a must win game for both teams to keep their league hopes alive. Cappamore got the better start going into a 2 point lead but Murroe-Boher replied with a goal and a point. It was score for score after that and Murroe-Boher took a one point lead into half time.
The second half started like the first with Cappamore getting a point but Murroe-Boher answered with 2-2 of their own and never looked like surrendering their lead from there on and ran out winners by 3-8 to 0-9.

Crecora Glantine 1-9 Ballybrown 2-8
Ballybrown edged a close encounter with Crecora Glantine in LIT on Sunday by 2-8 to 1-9.
The weather couldn't have been better for camogie and the game was evenly balanced at the end of the first half Ballybrown 0-4 Cecora Glantine 0-3. Both sides played their hearts out in what was a very physical, tough game. Ballybrown dominated the first 15 mins of the second half with 2 goals. But Crecora Glantine were not to be beaten easily and they fought their way back but it was too late and Ballybrown held onto to a nrrow two point lead to win. Final score Ballybrown 2-8 Crecora/Glantine 1-9.

Tournafulla 4-6 Feenagh Kilmeedy 1-4

Junior League

Patrickswell 1-5 Knockaderry 3-6
Two late goals for Knockaderry proved decisive in the opening match of the Junior League as they beat Patrickswell by 3-6 to 1-5.
It was a very close well-contested and tough game with nothing between the sides until the final minutes. At half time score was Patrickswell 1-3 Knockaderry 1-2.
The second half continued to be close and with 5 mins remaining both sides were level on 1-5 a piece. But a two goal blitz from Knockaderry meant they ran out winners by 3-6 to 1-5.
