Currams debuts for Offaly

July 12, 2008
Daniel Currams will make his championship debut for Offaly in this evening's All-Ireland hurling qualifier against Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds. The 18-year-old Kilcormac/Killoughey clubman, who scored 0-3 following his introduction against Wexford in the recent Leinster under 21 semi-final, is named at left corner forward in a much-changed team from that which lost to Kilkenny. Faithful County boss Joe Dooley has also drafted in Kevin and Joe Brady, and his son Shane, at the expense of Conor Mahon, Paul Cleary and Dylan Hayden. A fit-again Joe Bergin takes over from the injured Ger Healion at full forward, while Shamrocks' Derek Molloy is picked at wing forward, despite being doubtful with an ankle injury. Offaly (SH v Limerick): B Mullins; D Franks, D Kenny, M Verney; K Brady, G Oakley, D Horan; B Murphy, R Hanniffy; S Dooley, J Brady, D Molloy; B Carroll, J Bergin, D Currams.
