Cork IT demolish Kerry

January 13, 2008
Cork IT swept to a facile 2-13 to 0-4 win over an experimental Kerry side in a largely one-sided Waterford Crystal Munster Cup hurling clash in Ballyheigue. The winners benefited from the leg-up of an early Adrian Mannix goal after he was well set up by Cork senior Cathal Naughton in the 5th minute. Last year's Cork minor Ryan Clifford was a constant thorn in the Kerry side and he fired over some fine points to help ease the students into a 1-8 to 0-3 interval lead. Kerry, mainly through the efforts of Shane Brick and Aidan Healy, stuck to their task but another goal by Cork from Ryan Clifford put the game well beyond the Kingdom.
