McGee propels Maynooth to win

February 15, 2007
Francis McGee stole the show as Maynooth recorded a 0-14 to 0-7 win over Dundalk IT to make it into the Sigerson Cup quarter-finals. Hosts Dundalk started the game in bright fashion and three converted frees by Michael Lennon helped them into a three points lead at the end of the opening quarter. However three points from McGee and a brace from Louth native Pat Halligan hauled the Kildare-based side back into a 0-7 to 0-4 interval lead. The second half belonged to McGee with five unanswered points inside a six minute period ensuring a place in the last eight for Maynooth.
