Jim McCorry says he has yet to work with a better group of players than the current Armagh squad.

McCorry was appointed assistant coach to Kieran McGeeney in the Orchard County last November and, speaking ahead of Saturday's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Fermanagh, it seems the former Down and Kilcoo boss has thoroughly enjoyed his time thus far.

"It's the best group I have worked with," McCorry told The Irish News. "I know people say that because it's the current group that they're with. But I'm saying that genuinely - this is the best group I've worked with in terms of their attitude, their commitment, working together and listening and learning. They want more and more all the time.

"It's like being with a club, and they are even tighter after being away on the training camp. We have players that want to be there and are putting the effort in.

"For me, this is like working with Kilcoo, that club-type atmosphere. Going into the Armagh set-up I expected to see club groups, but if I brought you into our set-up now you wouldn't believe it's a county set-up, you would think it's a club set-up because the players are that tight."
