Stephen Kerins, who played minor football for Sligo when Eamonn O'Hara was at the helm in 2013, has been named in the Connacht rugby squad for the first time for tonight's Pro12 meeting with Ulster.
The 20-year-old scrum half has been training with Pat Lam's squad since pre-season after starring for the Ireland U20s in their run to the World Cup final in June.
The Connacht Academy player, St Johns GAA clubman and former Summerhill student has been named as back-up to Caolin Blade for the local derby clash, and is in line to make his senior debut off the bench. Kerins was viewed as one of Sligo GAA's brightest prospects before opting for the oval ball code.
