Ballygunner 0-16
Tallow 0-12

Ballygunner retained the Waterford SHC title thanks to a four point victory over Tallow in Walsh Park today.

The sides were evenly matched during a first half which finished 0-8 apiece but the Gunners pulled away in the second-half to get their hands on the coveted silverware for the 14th time.

It was a repeat of the 2011 final and the outcome was the same with Brian O'Sullivan top scoring for the winners with 0-5, two from play.

Up-and-coming minor star Peter Hogan found the target with three points from play in the second-half while captain David O'Sullivan sent over two points from his centre-back position.

Tallow were unable to find a way past a resolute defence which was superbly marshalled by the captain along with Barry Coughlan and Philip Mahony.

Once the celebrations have ended, Ballygunner will turn their attention to a Munster Club SHC semi-final showdown against Glen Rovers of Cork which is scheduled to take place at the same venue in two weeks time.
