Ronan O'Neill is hoping to get back into the Tyrone starting team.

Having missed the best part of 2012 with a cruciate ligament injury, the 20-year-old is on the comeback trail and has featured as a substitute in both the Red Hands' league matches so far this season. He has been named on the bench again for Sunday's clash with Donegal and is determined to make an impact if called upon.

"I'd like to be starting but there are other players fighting for positions too, so I'll just take my chance when it comes," the Omagh clubman says in The Irish News.

"The boys are doing well up front ... Conor McAliskey, Stevie O'Neill and Mark Donnelly in the full-forward line.

"So it's going to be hard to get in, but I'll work hard and see what Mickey does.

"It's going well so far. It's all about getting game time. I think Mickey just wheeled me back in at the right time, with ten or 15 minutes to go, and I'm happy enough to get on.

"Ten months is a long time, so I'm just going to have to be patient and take my chance when it comes, in training and in matches." Tweet
