Ulster club SFC: Gallagher guns down Clontibret

St Gall's Terry O'Neill has his jersey tested by Clontibret's Brendan Og Magennis during the Ulster SFC semi final
Rory Gallagher did his hopes of receiving a Fermanagh recall no harm at all yesterday when he inspired St. Gall's to a 10-point victory over Monaghan's Clontibret in the Ulster club football semi-final at the Athletic Grounds.
The well-travelled forward scored 2-4 in a man of the match display to send the Antrim champions through to another Ulster decider, where they will get the chance to avenge their 2003 final defeat to Loup in two weeks' time.
The 31-year-old netted in the 39th and 54th minutes to ensure a comfortable victory. With Aodhan Gallagher and Sean Burke dominant at midfield and Kevin McGourty and captain Colin Brady also impressive, St. Gall's had established a 0-8 to 0-5 lead at half-time.
With the wind to their backs in the second half, the Belfast side took complete control. CJ McGourty's precision pass sent Gallagher in for his first goal before Kevin McGourty added three points. When Gallagher fisted home his second major from substitute Darren O'Hare's centre, St. Gall's were all of 12 points clear, and there was no way back for Clontibret after that.
