Team Named as follows :
NFL: Wicklow Team to play Kilkenny: John Flynn; Pauric Higgins, Stephen Kelly, Ciaran Hyland; Paddy Dalton, Alan Byrne, Darren Hayden; James Stafford; Rory Finn; Tony Hannon, Austin O'Malley, Patrick McWalter; Paul Cunningham, Seanie Furlong, Conor McGraynor.
Leighton , Brian McGrath rested ..
Starts for McGraynor & Paul Cunningham .. Pauge McWalter gets a chance to improve his fitness and build strength in that knee ..
Austin O'Malley will have never played at this level at intercounty before I can assure you ! ... Without being disrespectful to opposition - stepping from playing Galway , Kerry etc to Kilkenny will be an eye opener for him .
Scoreline prediction :
Wicklow 4-25 Kilkenny 0-4
Important we win by +30 points as point difference could very well matter ..

If there was ever a reason to be out of Div 4 - this cannon fodder exercise is the perfect example . Unfortunately we have to give Kilkenny a trouncing to keep score difference up.
Doesnt matter if we kick 10-40 against Kilkenny .. absolutely worst preparation possible for Roscommon next week & we would have been better off with Clare on sunday before facing Roscommon .

Am thinking of putting a nice bit on ye in the handicap lads.Ye are -29 so come on,ye can do it,a nice 30 point win will do it:) We are practically out of the promotion race so yer results or score diff wont effect us.

Another point of slight interest on Sunday ..
Dean Healy, Stephen Kavanagh, Anthony McLoughlin all added to the subs . Dont know much about Dean Healy ? , will be first time he has been on bench for seniors - Stephen Kavanagh from Rathnew back in subs & Anthonly McLoughlin from Blessington back in subs for first time since Carlow game I think

A perfect chance for the boys to get their challenge back on the rails after last weeks flop in Aughrim. They will also be on a high going into the clash with Roscommon.

Square, Healy is young(19 or 20 I believe) and quiet inexperienced but very talented...It was his first year playing above minor level last year and started all throughout Pats senior campaign...
He is extremely fit and will run non stop until the final whistle...Great at winning breaking ball and coming on the overlap..His lack of size may well let him down and inter county level if he does come on....However he has got a very bright future if he works on the size aspect of his game because he has all the other tools needed to make a good half forward/back..
Agree with the above comments, O' Malley should have an absolute field day...Even playing club football in Mayo and in Vincents eh would have come up against better comp than what he'll face tomorrow. Hopefully Padge can keep on improving too as he gets confidence, match fitness and sharpness back...

Thanks Yourman ,
I know Healy now alright ..
Just what we need - another midget in the forward line . Sorry , hate to be negative - we need big strong 6ft plus men - thats the way the game has gone ... Personally I couldnt entertain yet another small footballer unless exceptional .
Anyway - I suppose Healy is worth a half look anyway ..

Roscommon 0-9 Clare 0-5 approaching halftime in Ennis .. Rossies laying down a marker , being away from home not a handicap thus far..

Thanks for all these updates but if you were a true supporter you would be out cheering on Wicklow rather than sitting in front of you pc and listening to the radio for updates.

Yeah Jack L - I guess your in Ennis following Roscommon so ? ..Who is doing all the scoring for the Rossies? - let us know .
But to answer your concern - Wife gave me the pass to go to Ireland v England yesterday .. pass didnt extend to Castlecomer today & having watched Killkenny hammerings for past 3 years , I was in no rush to request an extended pass this weekend..
