 Wicklows Thomas Walsh makes another fine catch | Wicklow SFC: Earls strikes late to earn replay
An injury time point from county star Paul Earls saved a replay for St Patricks against Kiltegan, as the two sides played out an enthralling draw in Sundays Wicklow Senior Football Championship final at Aughrim.
County finals roundup
On a busy day of county finals around the country we roundup all the action with football finals in Cork, Derry, Fermanagh, Donegal, Galway, Sligo, Leitrim, Offaly and Wicklow, as well as hurling deciders in Carlow and Westmeath.
Disciplinary amendments approved
The one yellow card and you are off motion was passed at the GAAs Special Congress but the move to change the U21 championship to U20 was rejected.
Leinster Council to give counties fair hearing
Leinster Council chiefs have intimated that they will help, as best they can, counties whose club championships are set to run right up until the commencement of the provincial club competition.
 Tight call for senior crown
This years senior football final sees St Patricks take on Kiltegan at Aughrim on Sunday in what should be a close encounter between these two rivals.
Carnew get the nod
On Saturday afternoon all roads lead to Arklow as Carnew take on Annacurra in an eagerly awaited intermediate football championship final.
Jameson hoping for better luck
St Patricks captain Gary Jameson will lead out the side against Kiltegan on Sunday afternoon and he is confident that they can lift the title once again.
GAA set to hold managerial meetings
The GAA is to hold meetings in all four provinces with intercounty managers ahead of the commencement of the new 2008/09 hurling and football seasons.

Kilcoole camogie news
At the week-end we had the return leg of our Camogie exchange with the Monaghan County team. This proved to be a memorable event for all who took part and shows that there is more to Camogie than what happens on the field!
County final on Sunday week
Arrangements are firmly in place for the Wicklow senior football championship final between St. Patricks and Kiltegan in the third ever such meeting between the sides with two former pupils of Gail Dunne, Casey OBrien and Gavin Wynne taking the management responsibility.
West Wicklow mourns Eugene Doyle
There was sadness throughout West Wicklow on the passing of Eugene Doyle who had lived in Grangebeg Dunlavin for many years, a member of the auctioneering firm of J P & M Doyle.
Blessington and Bray through to minor final
The county final of the John Wall Minor Football Championship takes place on Sunday week in Aughrim on the same bill as the senior football county final and thanks to impressive wins on Sunday last Blessington and Bray Emmets have booked their passage.
Peter Keogh floats that group team idea again
Wicklow GAA President Peter Keogh returned recently to one of his hobby horses, the idea of having more group teams involved in the championship in an effort to get players from the intermediate and junior ranks involved in senior during the Miley Cup campaign.

The intermediates are in championship action this weekend when they take on Carnew in the sem-finals.
Donard/Glen club notes
Our camogie team were the only ones in action last week. They lost to London in the Leinster championship on Saturday in Dunlavin.

On Saturday the semi-final of the Junior B Championship takes place in Arklow at 4:30pm. Lets cheer on the lads for this one and help them book a place in the final.
Kilcoole Camogie News
Hard Luck to our Intermediates who, on Sunday, were defeated by Knockananna in the Intermediate Shield Final. This was the last match of the year and brings a long and enjoyable competitive season to a close for this group.
Kilbride GAA Notes
It wasnt to be. The Intermediates went out of the championship last Friday night after a tough, spirited match against Carnew. The final score line of 3:9 to 0:10 was not a true reflection of this highly entertaining match.
Newtown club notes
Newtown senior team travelled to Shillelagh on Saturday for a league match, but were narrowly defeated 1-13 to 1-12. However they are still in a very strong position in this league, with the final 3 matches all at home.
Glenealy will be denied Leinster place
It looks as if there will be no place in the Leinster Club Championship for Glenealy who were crowned Wicklow Intermediate champions because of being regarded as second string.
Football final scheduled for the first Sunday in October
The scene is now set for the Wicklow senior football championship final to take place on October 5th between St. Patrickss and Kiltegan with the Wicklow Town side seeking to regain the Miley Cup for the first time since 2006 and the West side aiming to claim their second title, having won the championship in 1986.
Minor championship action on Sunday
There is an interesting bill on offer in Aughrim on Saturday afternoon involving a double-header minor championship affair with holders Blessington taking on Luke OTooles and Bray Emmets facing St. Patricks and the action commences at 14.15.
Intermediate title race wide open
There is a fascinating prospect of any of four teams - Aughrim, Eire Og, Dunlavin or Kilbride getting through to meet Annacurra in the semi-final of the DArcy Sand Intermediate Football Championship, and the answer should be known on Friday evening.
Interpro finals taken out of Croker
The GAA have announced the dates and fixtures for the Interprovincial football and hurling championships, with the finals no longer set to take place in Croke Park.
Leinster mini hurling Feile a great success
Last Saturday was a record breaking day for juvenile hurling in Wicklow as seven venues throughout the county played host to 56 hurling clubs from around Leinster and the other provinces in an U13 Mini Hurling Feile.
Ballymanus Notes
The intermediates booked their place in the championship semis against Carnew, when they defeated Avondale in Arklow last weekend.
Kilbride Club Notes
The Intermediate team line out on Friday v Carnew in Blatinglass at 6.30PM in the Championship, which is the final league fixture.

Our senior team were the only ones in action this week. With our juniors unable to field a team it was worrying times in the area.
An Tóchar GAA Notes
Mixed luck last week on the juvenile side with the under 16 and 18s. The under 16s travelled to Avondale and conceded a goal in the dying minutes which robbed victory from them.
Kilcoole Camogie News
Not much action on the playing fields this week - the only team out were the Under 12 Bs who played a most enjoyable game against visitors Ballinacor. Victory went to ballinacor on this occasion.
Newtown notes
A quiet week on the playing fields this week. Newtowns senior league match against Tinahely was postponed last Sunday morning. However Newtown travel to Shillelagh this Saturday for a senior league match. Check fixtures column for throw-in time.
Record holder to miss out on Kick Fada contest
The man who holds the record for the longest conversion of a placed kick, 72 metres, will miss out on todays (Saturday) staging of the MBNA sponsored Kick Fada competition in Wicklow.
Intriguing second semi-final
Management at Bray Emmetts will be well aware of how important Paul Earls was to the Wicklow town side against Blessington and some strategy is likely to be put in place in order that the influential forward be denied another 1-7.
Semi-final day in Aughrim
The Wicklow senior football championship has now entered the penultimate stage with semi-final action taking place this Sunday in Aughrim when the four teams still in contention vie for the right to grace county final day.
Valleymount remember their heroes of 1978
It is thirty years since Valleymount won the Wicklow Intermediate championship title and Corcoran Cup, all of which happened in the one year and the players and those involved were guests of honour at a wonderful function in the club-house on Saturday night last.
Dick Foley made a huge contribution to Kilcoole GAA
The death took place recently of Richard (Dick) Foley of Main Street, Kilcoole, a man who was associated with the local club for much of his life.
Late Murt Nolan was part of the Donard glory days
Donard lost another Gael with the death of Murt Nolan late last week, a man who was associated with the club during his playing days in the 1940s and 1950s.

Inter county stars to shoot out for MBNA Kick Fada title
Over 20 inter-county Gaelic Football players will shoot out for the MBNA Kick Fada title on Saturday, September 13th in the seventh annual MBNA Kick Fada at Bray Emmets Club, Co Wicklow.
One yellow and youre off
The GAA wants to introduce a new disciplinary system which will see players who receive a yellow card being sent to the sideline, with teams allowed to introduce a substitute in their place.
Special Congress motions revealed
The GAA have released details of the Special Congress to be held on October 4th with a list of the motions up for discussion, including changes to the hurling championship as well as disciplinary issues.
Kilcoole Camogie News
Our U16s got a walk-over from Kiltegan in the Shield and will now play Glenealy in the semi-final. The U14s also got a walk-over from Annacurra in the League.

Hard luck to our local ladies team who reached the senior county championship final last Sunday and went down to a strong Arklow GB team. The score at the end was 1-15 to 2-6 and our ladies will regret not converting frees early on in this performance.

Imagine this scenario, 3 Kilbride players playing in an All Ireland Semi Final playing against each other!! Well it actually happened when Catherina McKeon and Nicki Donohoe lined out for Wicklow and Deirdre ORiordan lining out for London last week!
