Glenealy secure planning permission

April 23, 2015

The Glenealy hurling club are set for a bright new future after they received planning permission to develop a 21-acre site.

The club aim to develop a full size playing pitch, juvenile pitch, running track, handball alley, hurling wall, dressingrooms, car park and other amenities.

Club treasurer Ian O'Neill told the Wicklow People: "This is a testament to the hard work that has gone in, there is a core of a development committee but there is a huge amount of people behind this, it's a massive effort from a small club.

"People have to remember that there are only roughly, 400 people in the village of Glenealy. We field three adult teams and we consider ourselves the premier hurling club in the county."
