Bray hurlers honoured

December 11, 2014

The Bray Emmets hurlers were honoured with a civic reception in the Old Town Hall.

The Bray & District Municipal Athority in conjunction with Wicklow County Council decided it would be appropriate to acknowledge the remarkable achievement of the club's hurlers in 2014, who won both the county SHC and the JHC.

Poignantly, the club had been founded in this very building way back in 1885.

There were four major cups on display at the top table - the O'Donohue Cup (SHC), Kavanagh Cup (SHL), Ashford Cup (JHC) and the Don O'Gorman Cup (JHL).

Prior to 2014, it had been 62 years since Bray Emmets last won the Wicklow senior hurling championship.
