Ballymanus club notes

November 17, 2014

Paul Kenny was again top man last weekend, when a great crowd turned out to parade him down to an awards ceremony to mark his European Gold medal win with Team Ireland over in Belgium during the Summer months. Club chairman Pat Carthy made a presentation to Paul on the night, who is gathering a nice collection of awards at this stage, however Paul vowed that the win wasn't going to be his last. All u8's and u10's also received a medal for all their hard work during the year, and for such a small area it was great to see so many juveniles on the night. Medal winners were: Under 8's: Callum McRae, Craig Evans, Ciara Byrne, Conal Harmon, Jack McRae, Liam McRae, Emma Murphy, Saoirse Tyrell, Caitlin Whelan, Ryan Lynch, Ross Keenan, Harry McElhinney, Kate McElhinney, Ava Stapleton, Lilly Stapleton, Aine Goggins, Malachy Byrne, Hannah O'Neill, Conor O'Neill and Holly Byrne. Under 10's: Ewan McRae, Sean Harmon, Aobha Harmon, Conor Byrne, Rowan Shepard O'Connell, Luka Shepard O'Connell, Sean Murphy, Adam Byrne, Tom Parker, Caoilin Goetalan, Fionn Morrissey, Oisin Morrissey, and Enda Goggins. Saoirse Tyrell won the most improved u8's player of the year, while Callum McRae won the overall u8's player of the year award. Caoilin Goetalan won the most improved u10's player of the year award, while Oisin Morrissey won the overall u10 player of the year award, The club would like to thank Mixer O'Brien, Gerry Keogh and all those involved in Paul's award ceremony, and to Ollie, Tom, John, PJ, Mark and all involved in the juvenile training over the year and their efforts in organising the awards night. As Pat Carthy said on the night, the future of the club is in its youth. There was no lotto jackpot winner for the draw held Monday 10th November. The numbers drawn were 2,6,19,20 with Pat Gethings and Aisling Kavanagh the only match three winners. Finally, the club AGM takes place on Saturday 29th Nov after mass. All welcome.
