Best feeling ever, says Barry

October 16, 2014

Barry O'Donovan was thrilled to captain Blessington to the 2014 Wicklow JFC title on Saturday.

The centre back, who doubles up as vice-chairman, collected the silverware after Kilmacanogue were defeated by 0-14 to 1-9 in the decider at Arklow and he told The Wicklow People afterwards:

"It's the best feeling ever. There were four of us there that won the minor in 1995. In all the years playing senior, we were beaten semi-finals every time, so to win it now and the way we won it - we were beaten at half time - we produced a really good second half.

"A lot of us are at the end of our mid-30s and we probably knew it was our last chance. For a lot of us, it will be our last chance to win something. It was either do or die.

"We said we'd give it everything and the second half was just attack, attack, attack and see what happens and thankfully enough they only scored one point in the second half."
