An Tóchar GAA club notes

April 14, 2014
Keep Easter Sunday (April 20th) night free for a night of entertainment organised by Don Ferguson, 7pm Aras an Tochar. These nights were a great success last Spring so come along everyone for plenty of music, song and comedy . Kids are welcome and bar will be open.
Our Senior Team had a good over Donard in the league at home last Saturday night. Even though we started with a few of our regulars and went behind by 4 points early in the game we played some nice football that saw us move the ball well out of defence and then get it quickly into the full-forward line. Despite missing a number of good chances including a penalty our forwards showed well for the ball and won a lot of possession. This eventually lead to a 7 point victory on a scoreline of 3-07 to 1-06.
The Club wish Paddy Crowley the best of luck with his recovery from a recent knee operation and hopefully we will see back on the pitch soon.

Thanks to all who supported our 50eu ticket draw the past few weeks. While our sales are down on last year it will still generate a lot of money for the club. Regrettably the Co Board has deferred the draw for 2 weeks and the first draw will now be on Friday April 25th. We apologise to anyone who has purchased and was expecting the draw to take place Friday night but this decision was unfortunately one we had no control over.

Good luck to Kyle Flynn and John Connor who are part of the Wicklow minor squad with a very tricky opener in Navan this Saturday. These lads have trained in Roundwood all winter and have been a credit to John Murphy and selectors with the respect they've shown our facilities.
Well done to our U10 and U-8 teams who took on Kilcoole, Avondale and St. Pats in the first Go-Games blitz of the year at Áras an Tóchar last Friday evening. They all performed brilliantly and especially some for whom it was their first ever matches, we look forward to more to come. The next Go-Games will be held in St. Pats Wicklow on May 9th. Thank you to all who helped out on the night, refereeing, setting out pitches, making teas etc.
The Club extends its sympathies to the Swords family, Ballinastoe on the death of Mrs Dympna Swords.
