Wicklow County U14 Camogie School of Excellence

June 17, 2013
The Wicklow County 2013 U14 Camogie School of Excellence has reached the end of Part 2 in this Summer's programme. Since the School started back in early May over 60 girls, aged 13 and 14, from Camogie Clubs in Kiltegan, Avondale, Knockananna, Kilcoole, Bray, Carnew, Aughrim, Donard/Glen, Ballinacor, Glenealy, Annacurra and Arklow - all corners of the County have taken part. They have benefited from top class Coaching and have played in the first of the Summer's Inter County Blitzes organised by Leinster Council involving 18 County teams. This has been a memorable experience for the girls involved and Clubs should benefit straightaway from the experience gained by their girls over these 6 sessions.
It's time for a break now as the girls prepare for Championship action with their Clubs and Knockananna's U14s head to National Feile na nGael in Limerick as Wicklow representatives.
Well done to all 60 girls and their parents as well as the Club people who ensured they got along to the training. Thanks is due to Avondale, Ballinaclash, Arklow Rocks and Annacurra for the use of their pitches for training. This co-operation is much appreciated and ensured the smooth running of the 2013 School of Excellence so far.
Part 3 of the programme gets underway on Thursday July 18th in Bray Emmetts Grounds. Girls born in 1999 and 2000 who haven't joined yet are still welcome to do so on July 18th. Training will run for 4 weeks followed by participation in the second Leinster Blitz on August 18th - a very exciting Summer lies ahead - come along and join in if you haven't done so already!
Patrick Mullaney from the Camogie Association has helped hugely in putting this programme together and the County Board as well as the Clubs have been very supportive.
