Donard-Glen club notes

June 16, 2013
Our seniors travelled to Annacurra on Friday last on a wet cold windy evening. Games between the locals and us have always been torrid affairs and this one was no different than the others. We even had a bit of argy bargee before the game.

Minus quite a few of our championship team we were a point in arrears at the bread. We raced into the lead early in the second half when disorder struck. The opposition were gifted a penalty which was converted. We are still wondering why it was given. It seemed to upset our lads as we started kicking wide's from all angles and eventually we lost by two points.

Team was Jim Corrigan, Kevin Osbourne, Colm & Rory Toomey, Bill Flynn, Alan Tutty, Eoin Kelly, Brian Lennon, John Hanbidge, Conor Healy, Kevin Kealy, Harry Mangan, Alan Daly, Pat Flynn, Colm O'Neill, subs; Tim and Clifford Grace and Brendan Daly.

At the third attempt our juniors eventually played a game. In the first fixture the opposition failed to fill against us and last week as a mark of respect to the Case family on the death of their mother our game with Stratford was cancelled but on Tuesday last we had a very good game against the locals in Stratford.

On Thursday (tomorrow) evening at 8.00pm we will play Tinahely in Donard.

Don't forget to get your team together for the Golf Classic on the 27th July in Baltinglass. Get you name down on the time sheet.

The winning numbers for last week's lotto were 2, 6, 19 and 28. There was no winner of the €10,300, and only five who matched three numbers.
