Junior footballers set for Kildare trip

Wicklow will open their Leinster JFC campaign away to Kildare next Wednesday.

No venue has yet been confirmed for this match but the likelihood is that it will be played in Newbridge.

Harry Murphy and the senior management team are also in charge of the county juniors and they will be calling on fringe players from the Wicklow senior side as well as others who were looked at during the year.

It's unlikely that Harry will risk any key subs, however, as the game comes just three days before Wicklow face Meath in the Leinster SFC.

Thus, Kildare - who already enjoyed a resounding win over the Royals in the first round of the Leinster junior football championship - will go into Wednesday's match as red-hot favourites.
