Juvenile
On Friday last our minors played the semi final of the winter league v St Nicks. It was our first competitive game in weeks but looking at the way the team played you wouldn't think so. Scores were hard got from either side and with neither side giving an inch, we went in all square at half-time at 1:06 apiece. The lads really lifted themselves for the 2nd half, and made sure this game wasn't getting away from them. Some more fantastic scores and team play saw us through in end.Ft-2:11,2:08. We play St Kevin's on Sunday 26th at 7pm. Venue to be confirmed. Scores: J Nolan 1-4,B Finan 0-3,D McEnroy1-0, C Kenny, J Kelly, E Keogh, R Ward pt each. The U14 match v AGB was cancelled as AGB could not field a team. Our U16s play Carnew at home on Mon 20 May. Western Gaels u12's & u11's narrowly lost their away league matches to Carnew ( 1-03 to 2-06 ) and Glenealy ( 2-01 to 1-00 ) respectively. Both teams performed very bravely and are a credit to their families. Had Western Gaels played their strongest 11 against both Carnew and Glenealy they would have easily matched them. Challenge matches in Blessington this Tues 21st at 7.15pm. Strongest thirteen u12 Western Gaels vs Naas u12 A and also second strongest thirteen u12 Western Gaels vs St.Annes. U14 Michael Dwyer Hurlers had a good win over the Wicklow U14 Development squad last Sunday in Blessington. In a very entertaining and high scoring game David Williamson caught the eye at corner back before retiring injured just before half time. The Football Go Games was held in Donard/The Glen on Sat 18th.
