Minor boss in the dark

May 09, 2013
Wicklow minor football manager Eoin Doyle admits he knows little about Westmeath.

Mullingar is the venue on Saturday afternoon as the Lake County host Doyle's charges in the second round of the Leinster MFC.

"Don't know anything about them really," the Garden County boss says in The Wicklow People.

"We've been trying to get some info but, as you can imagine, it's hard to get the detail you would like to be able to prepare for them. But Westmeath are always strong.

"I mean, when you have four schools playing in Senior Leinster 'A' competition, that's always going to be a massive help for them by playing at a very high standard.

"But, to be honest, when it comes to minors, it's really all on the day. Sometimes a team can just rise to the challenge on the day. Maybe they want it more and that can be a huge factor."
