Ballymanus club notes

May 14, 2012
The intermediates fell short against Newtown by six points last weekend despite a battling performance.

The lads gave as good as they got in the first half and were somewhat unlucky that they didn't go in at the break leading instead of the scoreline of 7pts apiece. Newtown to their credit upped the ante from the off in the second and notched up four or five points on the trot. The lads however never gave up, and when Micheal netted there were only three between the sides coming into the home stretch.

Our lift however was soon quashed when Newtown were awarded a penalty, which when netted, extended the gap to six points. The final score read 1-15 to 1-9. The juniors game was called off last week, however they are fixed to play Annacurra this Thursday evening in Annacurra at 7:15. The go-games were in the Gap last weekend. Well done and thanks to all who participated in the Pure Mile table quiz in Joe O'Tooles last Friday night.

There was no lotto jackpot winner for the draw held Monday 7th. The numbers drawn were 1,5,20,21, with Larry Byrne, May Kavanagh, Michelle O'Brien and Theresa Byrne all match three winners.
