Lawlor, Cora

February 22, 2012
One of the great old ladies in the Kiltegan/Rathdangan passed to her eternal reward at the weekend in the tender loving care of the staff at Baltinglass Hospital. Cora's family is steeped in GAA tradition.

Her late husband Charlie played on the old Rathdangan team and later for Kiltegan and was the first chairman of the present Kiltegan club when it was founded in 1966.
Daughters Mary and Ann were prominent camogie players with Kiltegan and Wicklow and were key members of the only Wicklow team to win a Leinster championship.

Mary and her husband Tony went on to collect Senior championship medals in hurling, football and camogie while son John also played football and hurling for Kiltegan. Cora was a long term patient in Baltinglass Care Centre.
Her funeral took place to Talbotstown Church on Saturday and she was laid to rest in Tynaclash Cemetery on Sunday morning.
The Kiltegan and MI Dwyer's Clubs provided a guard of honour while the attendance at the funeral was the biggest in the area in years. Our sympathy to her bereaved family.
