Match Reports:
Junior Hurlers: The Junior Hurlers had a 5 point cushion in this 'Junior A' championship semi-final against Avondale Sunday last. This was a pulsating and hard-fought contest for the winning Bray side.
In the first half, Paddy Lee who was tightly marked throughout managed to slip between the defenders for his trademark goal. Captain Willy Nolan also sliced the posts from distance while Michael Walsh at centre back kept a steady flow of ball pumping.
In the second half, trojan work was done by Daire Lohan, Billy Brazil and the peerless Luke O'Reilly. O'Reilly also scored a vital point from open play in the final 10 minutes, but it was Emmet Fitzgerald's opportune goal that sealed the game as a contest. Manager Kieran Delaney was delighted with the commitment and heart shown from his team. Beidh muid ag imirt in aghaidh Chill Téagáin sa chluiche ceannais i gceann seachtaine. Emmet Bhré - Peter O'Reilly, John Ward, Tadhg Ó Broin, Billy Brazil, Daire Lohan, Michael Walsh, Enda Ó Maolmhuaidh, Luke O'Reilly (0-1), Lorcan Pratt, Willy Nolan (Captaen)(0-1), Emmet Fitzgerald (1-0), Brian Lambe, Nicky Sweeney, Paddy Lee (1-4), Decy Glynn. Bainisteoir : Kieran Delaney
Final score was Bray Emmets 2 - 6 Avondale 0 - 7 .
Minor Ladies: Bray Minor Ladies were not so lucky on Sunday 12th with their 2nd game against Coolkenno in the league. We played with an under strength team, having lost our key players to other commitments and sickness. Not taking away from the girls that played, we came up against a very strong well prepared Coolkenno team. Bray Girls played to the best of their ability on the day, and are to be praised for never giving up. The score unfortunately does not reflect the effort they put in.
Team List: Siofra Heffernan , Cathy Waters(1g), Aoife O'Donovan, Emily Stephenson, Erin Horan, Lauren Barry,Tara Brady,Avril Byrne, Caoimhe Lohan(2pt), Cliona Horgan, Sarah Conway, Grace O'Donovan
Wicklow Senior Hurlers: Saturday afternoon, the Wicklow Senior hurlers played a challenge against London in Emmet Park. Representing Wicklow and Bray Emmets was our club man, Christy Moorehouse playing in the half-forward line.
