Kilmacanogue GAA club notes

February 06, 2012
Kilmac/Enniskerry hurlers suffered heartbreak on Sunday as they lost out on their Championship dream by a single point.
They took on Avondale in a long-awaited clash to contend for the 2011 Championship and slipped to a 2-8 to 3-4 defeat.
Clubman of the Year Shane Vickers bagged two of the goals with Ross Lally also finding the back of the net. Collie Brown recorded three of the side's points while Snowy Donoghue also sent the sliotar between the posts.
Despite the loss the lads did remarkably well to get that far and deserve huge credit. They can't afford to rest on their laurels though as Sunday's defeat sees them entered into the semi-finals of the Junior B Championship.
So we could have even more reason to celebrate in the Glen of the Downs golf-club on Friday, February 10 at the Fox Cup awards night.
Tickets are still available and can be obtained by contacting any board member.
Tickets are €25 per person.
It has been a brilliant season for the club so why not come along and celebrate it in style! Your ticket earns you a three-course meal and as always a fantastic night is promised.
Finally, this Sunday will sadly see Australia claim another one of our young stars. Michael Creavin will bid farewell to our shores this week as he sets off to Oz. Michael is an extremely dedicated member of our club and also a very talented player.
Everyone at the club would like to wish Michael all the best as he begins a new chapter in his life.
