Kilcoole Camogie Club News

February 06, 2012
Kilcoole Golf Club was full to the rafters for our Under age Presentation Night on Tuesday night when the players of 2011 were celebrated by the big crowd. The U17s who won the 'B' Championship and the U13s who won their Shield received their medals and also honoured were the U15s who reached their Shield Final as well as the U12s, the U11s who played Go Games in Dublin, the U10/U9s as well as the U8s and U6s along with the Grasshoppers, aged 4 to 7, all 33 of them. A great 2011 for everybody has come to an end and we all look forward to 2012.
Our thanks to the Golf Club staff and everyone who contributed goodies for the afters! A good night was had by all - missing the action were many of the poor Leaving and Junior Cert students who are in the middle of their exams - we wish them well.
On Wednesday we had a stand at the Wicklow Volunteer Centre's 'Put a Spring in your Step' Exhibition in Shoreline, Greystones. Thanks to the organisers of this very worthwhile event.
We were in the Leisure and Recreation section along with the Sea Scouts, Bowling, Tennis, Baseball and Hockey Clubs and the recently formed Greystones Cyclones - Rollerskaters.
Thanks to everybody who came along to help with our stand or pay us a visit.
On Thursday we had a very successful Table Quiz in Byrnes Mill Room. With all the tables full by the 8.30pm starting time we knew a good night was in store - and it was!
We scratched our heads as Simon and his team put us through our Quiz paces in a very efficient fashion. Our thanks to them for their hard work.
Many thanks also to everybody who contributed to our raffle - Niamh Martin won the Camogie Hamper sponsored by Frankie Sports in Wicklow Town, Lydia Brien went home happily in possession of a set of 4 beautiful framed photographs by Frank Honan and Good Counsel GAA Club from Drimnagh won the Fourball donated by Kilcoole Golf Club. There were lots more happy prizewinners including Bronagh Byrne who took 1st prize of 200 Euro!
If you sold/bought a Raffle ticket/table or donated a prize, you have made a great contribution to our Club and your efforts are much appreciated.
We look forward to your continued support through 2012. With an ever increasing number of underage players and our Adults lining out at Senior level for the first time ever, the season ahead looks pretty hectic!
With a County Board meeting coming up on Tuesday we expect to have news of Fixtures next week.
Indoor Training in Colaiste Chraobh Abhann is not on next week as the School is closed for mid-term. We return on Tuesday February 21st.
