Congratulations to Daniel "DD" Dawson on receipt of his Minor player of the year award for 2011 at the Wicklow County Awards night in the Arklow Bay hotel on Saturday night. Daniel was joined by his family, St Nicholas and Dunlavin representatives in celebration of this outstanding achievement, well done DD! We look forward to seeing more Dunlavin club men on the podium once more in 2012!
Also congratulations to Western Gaels clubman Kevin Glennon on receipt of his Junior Hurler of the year award for 2011 on the same night.
Our Junior team were in action on Sunday morning in the winter league once more this time it was against Lacken in Lacken, another excellent performance from what was a very young Dunlavin team where they ran out winners 3.12 to 2.08 , The lads battled hard against a tough resilient Lacken team in what was a very close game right up to the final whistle. A goal by Timmy Medcalfe in the last 2-3 minutes sealed the victory for Dunlavin. Very good performances in Midfield by Gary Carroll, Full back Patrick Deering and wing back James Kelly. The lads now face neighbours Donard in Donard next Sunday morning at 11.30am where we hope to have plenty of support.
Training is every Tuesday and Friday nights in St Kevins C.C at 7.45pm for both adult teams, also please note membership is now due for 2012 and can be collected on these nights.
