Newtown club notes

The AGM took place last Wednesday 9th of December. The new officers for 2010 are President Fr. Sean Smith,Vice-Presidents Pat Davis Sr, Eamon Doyle, John Ellis, Jim Mooney, Paul O'Connor, Micheal Shelly, Sean Tiernan, Chairman, Robert Nolan, Vice-Chairman Eamon Doyle, Secretary Pat Doyle,

asst Secretary Suzan Odlum, Treasurer James Kelly, asst Treasurer Jim Sullivan, PRO Daire Nolan, Registrar Brian Doyle. Committee members Anthony Duffy, Martin O'Connor, Mark Doyle, Jim O'Riordan, Tom Nolan, Shay Power, Ger Burke, Garrett Doyle, Dominic Leech, Helen Odlum, Pat Doyle,and Geraldine Nolan. Congratulations to the new committee and especially to those who are involved for the first time. Many topics were discussed,and the season just ended was reflected upon. Pride of place went to the u-12s who won their county championship. The Dunne Cup, recently won by the senior team was on display.

Thanks to Gail Dunne for all his work with the senior team and we wish him all the best in his new position with the County Committee. Position of senior team manager is now open for the next couple of weeks. Anyone interested in this position or who could suggest someone who would be interested should contact the committee.

Four delegates, Pat Doyle, Robert Nolan, Eamon Doyle and Daire Nolan represented Newtown GAA at the County Convention last Saturday in Aughrim.
The Lotto is now at §3,000 and the draw for free vouchers is included in the main draw.

The deadline to have pictures and information included in the club history is fast approaching. All items can be left in to Robert as soon as possible.Anything relevant to life in Newtown over the years is welcome.

The club would like to send sincere condolences to the family of Tom Lyng who passed away recently.
