DONARD/GLEN FOOTBALL NOTES
Our Parish U14 team had no luck against Baltinglass in the County final on Saturday. The opposition were a little bit smarter than our lads and deserved to win the championship still its a great achievement to reach a county final in any grade, maybe next year.
Representing our side of the parish were Stephen Pierce, Kevin Kealy (Captain), Conor Healy, and subs, Eoin Kelly, Niall Jones Emma Byrne and Jack Graham.
Our senior league game V Rathnew was called off and the Keating cup semi final V Shillelagh will be played on Saturday next in Baltinglass.
The ladies football club will be running a seven a side tournament for all school children in the area. Probably starting on Saturday week. More information next week.
The lotto stands at E9,000 at time of going to press on Monday. Last weeks numbers for 22nd September were 4, 5, 6 and 11
An Tóchar GAA club notes
The An Tóchar lads travelled to Arklow last Saturday for the semi-final of the Philip Doyle Junior B Championship and played some lively football but have it all to do again. After a close encounter with Tinahely the game ended with 0-9 points each.
It was our lads that raced into an early lead and were much sharper in the opening quarter but Tinahely crept slowly back. The sharp shooting of veteran Shay Cullen kept us in front for most of the match. But Tinahely never gave up the fight and went ahead with only minutes to go for the first time in the afternoon. After a well taken point by B Kennedy Tinahely headed up the field to equal the game before the final whistle blew.
N Nolan and J Dixon were solid in defence while S Cullen and J Coleman combined well up front. This match will have to be replayed this weekend so please confirm time and place with Paul Brady or any member of the panel. This team are well worth supporting. The under 12s play in the B Shield semi-final on Monday of this week so hopefully we will have good news to report from this side. Our congratulations to Clive and Siobhán who were married last week and to Edward and Suzanne who were married in July. The club lotto jackpot is worth .11,600 this week so please support.
Newtown GAA club notes

The senior team had an important home win against Stratford in the league on Saturday in Newtown. The final score was 2-07 to 1-09.

Kilbride club notes
Pride of place must go this week to the Lacken/Kilbride Under 12s team, this most talented team have reached the All Wicklow B Championship final after beating Avondale under lights in Roundwood, the highest village in Ireland.
They won on a score of 1-10 to 1-3, a comprehensive performance from start tofinish. Every player improved on a very nervous quarter final display against Michael Dwyers in Lacken some weeks ago and the score line reflects that new found composure.
The team that lined out on Friday was: Gareth Hegarty, Conor Ryan, Richard Ward, Fiachra Dillon, Peter Fitzsimons, Hughie Walsh, Eoghan Keogh, Darragh Ryan, Shane Byrne, Simon Creighton; Matthew Creighton, Zach Dennison, Peter Mullen, Aaron Renaghan, Mark Renaghan, Alan Jones, Eric Murphy,Aaron Curran, Callum Ashmore, Ciaran Haytor, Eoin Gallagher. The final could be some weeks away as a dispute has broken out between two other teams that are in contention for a semi final spot. I heard a rumour that the a trip to the Leinster Football Final next year is being arranged if the team manage to bring home the first piece of Juvenile silver ware to the club.
Fair play to the clubs second team who put in a spirited, driven performance in the Junior C championship QF on Sunday last. They defeated Tinahely on a score line of 3-6 to 0-11. In fairness the whole team put in a solid collective shift, with a few players really showcasing their ability, Niall Keogh was man of the match at centre half back, Jack Dempsey and Finn Craul had very good games in the middle, David Reddy pulled the strings at full forward and center half forward. James Cahill once again was sturdy a full back. Sean Byrne was playing really well, but had to be replaced after ten minutes due to injury,
John O'Brien also put in a strong performance. Final Score 3-6 to 0-11. They await in the Semis either Kiltegan or Aughrim who play Coolkenno in the QF.
Best wishes to the Eoin Cripps, Sean Byrne and Niall Keogh who play in the Minor Championship Final on Sunday in Aughrim. Good luck lads.
Finally, huge congratulations to Deirdre O,Riordan who picked up an All Ireland Medal on Sunday playing for London in the Junior Final, not many Kilbride players have scored a goal in Croke Park, well done Deirdre. Ironically defeating Wicklow (who had two Kilbride players starting) in the Semis.
Ballymanus club notes
Well, 2008 has been a long tough year for the intermediates, from when we first started out preparing for Celebrity Bainisteoir back in November, and right through tough encounters in the senior league. Their year however came to a close last weekend when they were beaten by Carnew in the championship semi-finals.
Both teams matched each other in the opening stages but Carnew tacked on a few scores, where we failed. At times it looked as if we would not score at all in the opening half, but Mark managed to open our account to leave the half time score five points to one. Again, we started well in the second half but failed to convert our advantage into scores on the board, dropping too many shots short into the goalies hands.
The final score read ten points to four, and although we could have been a little closer, in truth we never sparked at all and were playing second fiddle to Carnew for a large part of the game. The game signaled the end of Paidi's two year tenure, who managed us to a championship and league final, and championship semi-final. The club wish to thank Paidi for all his efforts, and indeed all members of the management team for their committment and input over the year.
There was no lotto jackpot winner last weekend with the numbers drawn being 6,12,20,24. Match three winners were Jim O'Driscoll, John Byrne, Amy Kelly, Ann Moran and Richard Ovington, all receiving Ä25 each. Finally, the AGB ladies march on in their quest for Leinster glory, when they take on Myshall of Carlow this Sunday. Take an eye to the fixtures for the time and venue of this game, and go along and give Caitriona, Ashling and Aine your support.
