Donard/Glen club notes

September 22, 2008
Our camogie team were the only ones in action last week. They lost to London in the Leinster championship on Saturday in Dunlavin. While they matched the exiles point for point three goals scored at crucial times in the game was the difference between the teams. Team was Sue and Carmel Whelan, Mary O'Neill, Niamh O'Byrne, Caitriona McKeon, Lindsay Quinlan, Dervbela O'Neill, Clare Whelan, Eve Whyte, Karen Walshe, Gemma O'Neill, Breda Walshe, Geraldine Norton, Lindsay Walshe, Mary Whelan; Sub; Nora O'Neill, Alva Neary, Our senior football league game was called off as a mark of respect to the Doyle Family on the death of their uncle Eugene. The club would like to sympathize with the family. Also deep sympathies to our recent Club Chairmen Peter and David Case and the rest of the Case family on the death of their sister Agnes who died recently in Dublin. Some juvenile news now. Next Saturday in Arklow the parish U14 team will play Baltinglass in the County Final. Our side of the parish will be represented here. Mick Daly was captain of the last team to win this championship so it,s around 1994 since it has been won in Donard/Dunlavin area. On Saturday next in the dressing rooms in Donard Football Field all parents in the area are invited along to register their child in the Donard/Glen club. This begins at 3.30pm Finally wasn,t that some all Ireland final between Tyrone and Kerry. To those who are thinking of changing the playing rules and the cards system I say = stop messing around with the game it is the best game around by a mile.
