The man who holds the record for the longest conversion of a placed kick, 72 metres, will miss out on today's (Saturday) staging of the MBNA sponsored Kick Fada competition in Wicklow. The competition gets underway today for the seventh time at the Bray Emmets club but Kildare's Marc Herbert has cried off due to injury. "I did my cruciate knee ligament training with the club towards the end of July so it would only do more harm than good to take part," said Herbert. "I'll be having an operation on it next month and will hopefully be able to get back training for April or May next year." Tweet
