Rathnew manager Harry Murphy is looking forward to their latest Wicklow SFC final as they prepare to defend their title against St Pat’s.

Indeed Rathnew are going for their seventh title since 2009, such has been their dominance in the county during that period.

They enter Sunday’s final as strong favourites to retain the title, but Murphy is experienced enough to know that there is no point in taking the game for granted.

“Pat’s have probably been the form team of the year so far,” Murphy told the Wicklow People. “They got out of what people would have said was the stronger group at the start of the year and they got out of it comfortably enough.

“They’ve had a big win in the semi-final whereas we scraped over Arklow so I don’t know who people would make as favourites but we know we’ve a very tough task on our hands come Sunday.”
