A great day for our U11 hurlers at Ballinakill on Saturday. In our Div 2 final after a very exciting game with some heroic performances we were narrowly beaten by Avondale.
After finishing as the top two teams after 11 rounds of the league we were pitched against Carnew in the Div 1 final. We played against a strong breeze in the first half yet managed to go in at the break ahead which set us up to drive on with the wind in our backs. We won out in the end on a scoreline of 4-9 to 0-3. Our club secretary Mick Murphy presented the trophy to Captain James Curry and said it was a proud moment for him as a Pats man to have the honour. Well done to all the boys who represented the club with great distinction today.
It was fantastic to be bringing back a trophy after all the hard work that has gone in all year. We enjoyed a cavalcade from Kidzone to Dunbur where the celebrations continued with pizza, chicken dippers, and wedges!
Thanks to Burkes Hardware & DIY who sponsor our U11 Hurling and Football teams.

Team: Div 1: Mathew Leonard, James Curry, Senan Shorthall, Alex Dunne, Liam Delaney, Adam O' Brien, Samuel Downey, Jack O' Leary, Aaron Nugent, Joe Culleton, Alfie Doyle, Eoin Lawlor, Michael O' Brien, Senan O' Donovan, Jack Neville

Div 2: David Burke, Conor Martin, Lee O' Reilly Carton, George Connors, Seamus Treanor, Tiernan O' Neill, Tom Phelan, Liam Phelan, Conor Coffey, Eoin Mitchell, Cathal Cannon, Arthur Curran, John O' Brien, Luke O' Meara, Ben Currie

Thank you to all the players and management for their efforts during the year and all the parents for their support especially on Saturday.

Well done to the Minor Ladies on a great win over Valleymount in Championship on Tuesday evening. The other Minor Championship Quarter final results came through as follows: Blessington beat Bray Emmets, A.G.B. beat Eire Og and Tinahely beat Baltinglass. The line-up for the semi-finals which will be played next Sunday, 14th October (unless otherwise agreed by both teams) and will be at Neutral Venues are as follows: St. Patrick’s v A.G.B. and Blessington v Tinahely (Wednesday, 17th October at 7.30pm.).

Our U13 footballers travelled to Arklow on Sunday morning hoping to reverse the league result against undefeated Baltinglass. On a day when the team tried hard it was not to be with the full time score: St. Patrick’s 4-05 Baltinglass 5-14.
Thank you to all the players and management for their efforts throughout the year and the parents for their support during the year especially on Sunday.

Hard luck to our Senior Hurlers in the championship semi-final against reigning champions Glenealy. At the end of the opening half of the SHC Semi-final St Patricks were ahead on s scoreline of St. Patrick’s 2-04 Glenealy 0-04. In a ten minute blitz at the start of the second half the sides were level. It was nip and tuck right to the end with St. Patrick’s coming up short with the full time score: St. Patricks 2-07 Glenealy 2-12.

Team: Eoghan O’Mahony, Dale Quinn. John Connors, George O’Brien, Eddie Kelly, Gerry Connors, Michael Connors, Christy Moorehouse, Chris Kavanagh, Niall Hanton, Wayne Farrell, Patrick Murphy, George (Bee) O’Brien, Andy O’Brien, James (Bonner) O’Brien,

Management: Michael Neary, Ray Nolan, Alan Carton and Mick O’Brien

Hard luck to our Intermediate Champions who represented Wicklow in the Leinster Junior Club LGFA Championship, who went down fighting to a strong Old Loughlin side on Sunday in Dunbur. Old Leighlin got off to a dream start with a goal in first  few minutes. Our Ladies battled hard but it was not to be with the Halftime score: St Patrick’s 1-01 Old Leighlin 2-06. St Patrick’s faced a tough second half battle playing into a stiff breeze. These ladies are made of great stuff and they made a big push to overturn the deficit but the score at full time did not reflect the effort of the Ladies: FULLTIME St Patrick’s 1-01 Old Leighlin 3-14. We wish Old Leighlin every success in the next round of Leinster. It has been a brilliant year for our St Pats Ladies who are going from strength to strength and have represented our Club and County proudly.
Team: Megan Dunne, Aoife Dunne, Maedbh O’Keane, Natasha Fitzgerald, Rebecca Hollingsworth, Aine Cahill, Naoise Marron, Laura Leonard, Luci Hobbs, Sophie Porter, Orla Redmond, Naoise O’Reilly, Siobhan Gorman, Niamh Caffrey, Ami Healy, Leona Franey, Liz Malone, Sadbh Murphy, Aishling Walsh, Chloe O’Donovan, Eva Phelan, Ellen Griffin, Aine McDonald, Zoe Byrne

Management: Lee Watters, Carol Jameson, Martin Byrne, Dave Fitzgerald and Patrice Evans

The only thing that went wrong on Sunday was the result as everything else was organised brilliantly. Well done to the management who looked after the team throughout 2018. Thank you to all who assisted in making the day a success in Wicklow.
