Wicklow GAA is in the news once again after trouble erupted during a SFC play-off.
The game between Rathnew and Hollywood which was only scheduled after Kiltegan had handed the latter a walkover earlier in the week, was marred with a number of incidents during the match which Rathnew won by 2-10 to 1-04.
Rathnew’s Graham Merrigan was the only one to see red during the contest, but there was a seven-minute delay in the game during the second half as referee John Keenan had to deal with a number of incidents around the pitch.
This weekend has seen many games all over the country spill over and not for the first time this year, Wicklow GAA is back in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Rathnew progress to the semi-final and with the game captured on video, they will be hoping that there are no more suspensions handed out as will Hollywood, who now play Baltinglass this Sunday in a must win game.
