The Leinster Council have upheld an appeal by the Kilmacanogue GAA club against a decision to award a walkover against them in a SFL Division 1A clash.

Kilmacanogue were due to play Coolkenno in the league fixture, but they requested that the game being rescheduled due to a tragedy in the local area.

However, the Wicklow CCC refused the postponement, but Kilmacanogue would not play the game and the points were subsequently awarded to their opponents.

However, they brought their appeal to the Leinster Council who upheld it and now the game must be rescheduled.

Both sides are still involved in the intermediate football championship and in the league, so the game's outcome will be important to both clubs.
