For the second time in two years, a team has pulled out of the Wicklow senior football championship.
Tomacork, which is an amalgamation of Carnew Emmets and Coolboy were due to play in this year's Wicklow senior football championship, but have opted out instead.
The amalgamation have cited the hectic schedule of fixtures in the club hurling and football championships as the reason for their decision to withdraw.
Last year, a group team St Boden's consisting of Lacken and Kilbride were due to play in the Wicklow IFC, but also pulled out before playing a game in the campaign.
Carnew chairman Tim Balfe told the Wicklow People: "Our logic was based on player welfare. When the fixtures were published we realised that we would be playing IHC, SHC mid-week and IFC and SFC at the weekend. We were looking at playing six games in 11 or 12 days and that would be happening for a while."
