Cushe steps down
17 July 2002
Wexford selector Ger Cushe has stepped down in the wake of last Sunday’s All-Ireland hurling qualifier defeat to Clare.
The 1996 All-Ireland winning full back held the position for two years and it remains to be seen if manager Tony Dempsey will also follow suit.
I will make no rash decisions, Dempsey said.
I will take time out, consider the workload involved, and this coupled with my new job as a TD will be all taken into account, he added.
It is understood that the third member of the Wexford backroom team, Davy Morris, is keen to stay on for another year.
