Storey steps down

Wicklow hurling manager Martin Storey

Wicklow are on the lookout for a new senior hurling manager following the decision of Martin Storey to step down from the position.

The Wexford legend informed the Wicklow Board of his decision and cited family and work commitments for his decision.

Storey only spent one year in the role and during that time they were involved in relegation scraps in the NHL and the Christy Ring Cup, both of which they won.

Wicklow chairman Martin Coleman admitted that the county was going through a transition period and the focus now was on finding a replacement for Storey.

Already a front runner for the job is former Wicklow hurler Jonathan O'Neill who guided the county to All-Ireland Under-21 B glory last year.
